Houston is known for being one of the primary hubs for NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. It is also one of the primary hubs for the United State's offshore oil drilling enterprises.

Several professional sports teams call Houston home, such as the Astros (MLB), the Texans (NFL), the Rockets (NBA), and the Dynamo (MLS). No matter what time of year you are in Houston there will always be a team that is playing.

Being a port city has its advantages. The constant influx of foreign and domestic visitors has given the city of Houston a cosmopolitan feel. The rustic American cowboy mentality blends with European and South American culture to create a delightful combination. This also lends itself to great culinary opportunities within the city.
