About
Morrilton
Morrilton is a community of approximately 7,000 persons. It is
the seat of Conway County, located in the foothills of the Ozark
Mountains in northwest Arkansas. Morrilton's residents are blessed
with the quiet lifestyle of a small town, while only 45 minutes
away via Interstate 40 from Little Rock, the state capital.
Its downtown area provides an interesting exhibit of the old and
the new, with a walking tour of the historic district's homes
and commercial buildings a popular pastime for history enthusiasts.
An 1895 railroad depot serves as a museum and a monument to the
establishment of the town as it grew and prospered.

Attractions
Recreational opportunities abound, with Ozark National Forest
to the north and Ouachita National Forest to the south. Both
forests border Conway County. The Arkansas River borders the
south edge of town, separating Morrilton and the many delights
of beautiful Petit Jean Mountain with its state park, lodge,
restaurant, lake, campgrounds, automobile museum, and many
other attractions. Our city, state, and federal parks offer
wonderful opportunities for all kinds of recreational activities,
including swimming, tennis, aerobics, picnics, hunting, fishing,
boating, camping, and much more.
