settlers of Carmichael were Charles W. and Mary A. Deterding.
In 1907 they purchased a 425-acre site along the north bank of
the American River.
Carmichael is located in Sacramento County just northeast of Sacramento
between Rancho Cordova and Auburn along Interstate 80 near Folsom
Lake. Carmichael is part of the Sacramento, California metro area.
