Frequently Asked Questions
Question: What travel reimbursements are eligible for coverage?
Answer: Eligible reimbursements are for travel arrangements booked through this website and do not include arrangements made outside or independently of this website.
Question: Why should a traveler buy travel protection?
Answer: Travel protection gives travelers coverage for unforeseen problems, from a cancelled flight to a serious illness or in rare cases, even an act of terrorism or the financial default of a travel supplier. If an illness, accident, or other covered unforeseen circumstance forces a traveler to cancel or interrupt their plans, they may loose money invested in nonrefundable pre-payments and for medical expenses that may not be covered by health insurance.
Question: How does trip cancellation and interruption coverage work?
Answer: It reimburses for forfeited, nonrefundable, unused payments and deposits if the traveler must cancel or interrupt their trip due to a covered reason.
Question: Is the financial insolvency of an airline, cruise line or tour operator covered?
Answer: Coverage is available if the insolvency of the supplier occurs at least 14 days following the effective date.
Question: What happens if a traveler must cancel their vacation for a covered reason?
Answer: Often a traveler will lose nonrefundable deposits and prepayments that can add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. A travel protection plan can provide trip cancellation coverage for the traveler's vacation investment and reimburse the traveler for pre-paid, nonrefundable trip costs due to a covered loss.
Question: What other coverage is typically included in a travel protection plan?
Answer: In addition to trip cancellation and interruption, travel protection plans available today may also reimburse for emergency medical expenses and emergency medical transportation, when ordered by a doctor, to the nearest adequate medical facility.
